Spacebullar (2022)

Silly 3D multiplayer coop space game.

Second ever GooseGirlGames game, created as a uni project at Bauhaus Gamesfabrik.

Basic idea: You and your friends work for this shitty-ass space meatball delivery company, being forced to deliver meatballs through the vastness of space while your equally shitty-ass spaceship keeps breaking down.

Making a networked multiplayer game was fun as hell! This was back when Unity’s Netcode for GameObjects SDK was pre-1.0.0, so this was all very new and exciting. Also, they didn’t have as good of a set of tools for locally running and testing multiple instances of a game yet. Hence, a lot of development was done just hanging out and testing stuff together. Very much pair programming!

Also was really fun to exhibit at summaery, even though there was a lot of explaining to do, since we didn’t have time for a tutorial and the movement and interactions were a bit unusual. But so cool to see random people get together and have fun with something you made!

Much love to my fellow Goose Girls <3
